Karl Rahner – La puissance d’engendrement d’une pensée

Partant de la fécondité effective de l’œuvre de Karl Rahner, l’article s’interroge sur l’impulsion qui a rendu possible son ampleur exceptionnelle. Il n’en scrute donc pas telle partie ou tel contenu mais s’intéresse à la genèse ou à la « puissance d’engendrement » de la pensée du théologien jésuite. Pour cela, il part de son itinéraire et repère les tournants et la différenciation interne de sa théologie, pour en dégager le « ressort » qui se trouve dans une sensibilité spirituelle aux « nouveaux commencements », à repérer et à penser au sein de notre histoire humaine et dans la tradition chrétienne. L’article tente de vérifier cette hypothèse à partir de quelques situations-clés. Instruit par ces leçons, il reviendra au contexte actuel où, à la suite de Rahner et en pensant avec lui et non pas comme lui, les théologien(ne)s peuvent trouver leur propre impulsion en apprenant à discerner le « kairos » théologique qui leur est offert.

Karl Rahner – The generative power of Rahner’s thinking 

Starting with the effective fecundity of Karl Rahner’s work, the article examines what drove enabled its exceptional breadth. Hence, it will not examine one or the other part of his work, but rather the genesis or the ‘generative power’ of the Jesuit theologian’s thinking. In order to do this, we will follow his itinerary and mark out the turning points and the internal differentiation of his theology, to bring out its internal dynamics situated in a spiritual sensitivity to ‘new beginnings’, to seeing and thinking at the heart of our human history and in Christian tradition. The article attempts to verify this hypothesis in reference to some key situations, then proceed to the present-day context where, following Rahner and thinking with him, but not necessarily like him, theologians may find their own driving force through learning to discern the theological kairos thus proposed to them.
