Pour répondre aux défis de la transition écologique, il faut une transformation profonde de l’agir politique. Mais le terme de conversion est-il adéquat pour décrire cette transformation ? Les appels des prophètes à la conversion politique peuvent nous inspirer, à condition de les transposer de manière analogique au contexte moderne. La conversion peut alors être comprise comme la réorientation de l’agir politique lorsqu’il n’est plus aligné avec le bien commun.
In order to respond to the challenges of ecological transition, we need a profound transformation of political action. However, is the term conversion adequate to describe this transformation? The appeals of prophets for a political conversion may inspire us, if they are transposed in an analogical way to the modern context. Then, conversion may be understood as a reorientation of political action when it is not aligned with the common good.
