Théologie politique du trône vide. Anarchisme et christianisme

Nous souhaitons défendre ici l’impossibilité d’une « théologie politique » entendue comme déduction d’un pouvoir politique légitime depuis la doctrine théologique. Par ce refus, il ne s’agit pourtant pas d’abandonner toute théologie politique et de plaider pour un christianisme apolitique. Au contraire, cette impossibilité, dénonçant la tentation d’auto-sacralisation du pouvoir, se présente comme intrinsèquement politique. Laissant le pouvoir sans fondement – « le trône vide » – nous montrerons que la théologie politique chrétienne a à voir avec l’anarchisme.
In this article, we wish to defend the impossibility of the ‘theologico-political’ understood as deduction of a legitimate political power based on theological doctrine. This refusal does not entail abandoning all political theology and pleading for an apolitical Christianity. On the contrary, this impossibility, which denounces the temptation of auto-sacralisation of power, can be understood as intrinsically political. Leaving power without a foundation – ‘the empty throne’ – we shall show that Christian political theology is related to anarchism.
